Welding a Leaking Gas Cylinder

Welding a leaking gas cylinder is one of the most effective ways of sealing a leaking point/area on the cylinder.

It must however be emphasized that welding should only be done on a gas cylinder that is in a good condition.

A gas cylinder can be said to be in a good condition, when its metal body has not undergone corrosion.

Welding a gas cylinder that has undergone corrosion, which has weakened the metallic bonds in the metal body of the cylinder, will not provide a lasting solution to the problem of leakage.

While it may seal the original leaking point, other leaking points will emerge in the neighborhood of the original one, leaving the gas cylinder worse than it was before.

In a nutshell, do not waste your time/resources to weld a gas cylinder that has undergone substantial corrosion, in a bid to seal the leaking points on the cylinder.
